What to Expect in This Role?

As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing internal tools that facilitate process management for the design, permitting, and installation of Tesla’s energy products and systems. Your contributions will enable internal teams to track, standardize, automate, and optimize installation jobs from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications under the team’s scope.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code to introduce new features and resolve bugs.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and collaborate with QA teams for timely regression testing.
• Monitor live system metrics, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Understand existing system functionalities and propose technical improvements.
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Business teams to prioritize and plan new feature developments.
• Communicate updates on project estimates, dependencies, and blockers effectively with stakeholders.
• Own the end-to-end development lifecycle of features from design to release.
• Improve the scalability, maintainability, and visibility of Tesla applications.
• Document new technologies and application functionalities for seamless knowledge transfer.

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A strong grasp of fundamental web technologies including HTTP, REST, AJAX, and JSON.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ES6, including DOM manipulation and the JS object model.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases and database principles.
• Hands-on experience in building and using RESTful APIs, with a thorough understanding of REST principles.
• Deep knowledge of React.js, its core design principles, and commonly used design patterns.
• Experience with frontend development tools like Vite, NPM, and Yarn.
• Familiarity with GraphQL is a big plus!
